MANAGEMENT
The DMG's letter dated January 25, 2005 transmitted its adequacy comments regazding the 2003
Annual Report. Following are Bowie's responses to the DMG's comments and concerns:
2003 Annual Hvdroloev Report /AHRI
1. Page 2 of the report states that ground water well B01 was destroyed by a 2003
reclamation project Figure 1 states that B01 is located at the East Mine fan
IeveL The Division is not aware of any reclamation activities at the East Mine
fan level site in 2003. Please explain. Should this borehole be replaced or can
borehole B02 provide sufficient information?
BRL -After receipt of DMG's inquiry regazding the destruction of ground water
well BOl, we found that BO1 was destroyed by a dozer during maintenance of the
road to the old power and cap magazines. This actually occurred sometime prior to
June 26, 2002 (see attached copy of field monitoring notes). Boreholes BOl and
B02 have been dry during each monitoring event since they were drilled in
September, 1981. Considering the close proximity of Boreholes BOl and B02 and
that they are neaz the same horizon, we believe Borehole B02 provides sufficient
information for monitoring purposes.
