r Ms. Richael Michels
Larimer County Planning Division
June 20, 1995
Page 9
Processed material will be shipped daily from the site to customers.
Therefore, this material will not impede the flood flow.
c) No new or replacement domestic water wells, water supply, treatment, or
storage systems aze planned for this site.
' d) No new or replacement sanitary sewer treatment systems, including
individual sewage disposal systems are planned.
e) No material shall be stored or located that is buoyant, movable,
flammable, explosive, or in times of flooding could be harmful to human,
animal, plant life, or other property or structures, public facilities, or subject
to movement by flood waters.
' f) Any weed killers used must be compatible with use neaz waterways since
this site is in a floodplain. For example, Roundup should not be used neaz
' running water. If noxious weeds become a problem, Connell will contact the
Department of Natural Resources or the Extension Office for recommended
chemical weed killers.
g) In azeas where mining is not occurring, existing vegetation will be lefr on
the ground to slow storm water runoff and prevent erosion. No storm water
prevention structures will be constructed in azeas not currently disturbed by
mining activities.
h) Revegetation of disturbed azeas remains the most efficient and economical
Best Management Practices (BMP's) for reducing sediment transport from
' lazge azeas. Roots hold soils in place and surface growth filters sediment and
reduces runoff velocities, causing deposition of suspended particles.
Attachment H is a copy the Storm Water Management Plan. This document
explains the BMP's and mitigation measures for erosion and sedimentation
control.
' There are two ditches on the property used to irrigate. These irrigation ditches are
strictly used by the property owners. Only the irrigation ditch on the west side of the
property will be affected by mining activity. The property owner has no objection
' to the removal of this ditch.
