Mining - Reclamation - A.P coot

S1T~ S
Arkins Park South - Five Stones - This area has be n opened and
is being quarried to replace the Trupp quarries whic are in the
process of reclamation.
Mining Plan: An access road was constructed from t e valley to
the west. We plan to remove stone first from the orth side of
the draw. It will be removed from the south tows d the north-
west. The processing is being done on a work dec to the east
and in the valley to the west where the access ro d enters the
draw. A process area, loading area and storage ar a is located
there. We plan in the future to remove stone from t e south side
of the draw which would be an extension of an ex sting quarry
that was operated by Colo. Stone Co. 10 - 30 ye rs ago. We
expect to gain access from the west side of the mou tain similar
to the access to the north part of this area. Th old access
road from the east is so steep and rough that the large trucks
cannot get up the hill and it is very dangerous t try to get
them up the hill and around the sharp curve.
Reclamation Plan: When depleted these areas will be reclaimed
according to the specifications of the other guar ies in this
area following the contour of the mountain as close as is
feasible. We expect these areas to be producing for a long
length of time.
S1T~ ~ Arkins Park South - The west part of this qua ry has been
depleted and we plan to reclaim about 1 acre on th top in the
near future at the same time as the reclamation wi 1 be done on
the Trupp quarries. We have already re-seeded the outh side of
the draw that is to the north of the quarry area and it is doing
very well. We plan to continue quarrying on the orth side of
the draw in the lower parts as the demand for that c for and type
of stone is needed.
Enclosed are amended maps as required for each area
