A summary of the average quality of the water discharged during
the year is as follows:
Point pH TDS TSS TFe Discharge
001 8.61 632mg/L <lOmg/L 0.14mg/L 21.83 MG
004 8.58 1686 <10 0.23 54.19
GRODND WATER
The ground water monitoring points located on Cottonwood and
Rapid Creeks were monitored twice during the year. Results of
the monitoring are listed on data page GA-1. The following is a
comparison of this year's readings with the average depth to
water for the previous 5 years.
Location May '90 May Ave. Sept '90 Sept Ave.
S-OlA
GWM 6.4 5.5 7.2 7.1
_
-O1B 8.0 7.1 8.7 8.4
-02A 16.6 16.4 18.9 17.4
-02B 19.7 17.2 22.6 20.5
-03A 10.7 9.8 11.9 10.5
-03B 9.3 8.8 11.2 9.7
•
All six of these piezometers showed a lower than average water
level which is consistent with the lower than normal creek flows.
Piezometers on the Cameo Refuse Disposal Area No. 1 were
monitored quarterly. Results of this monitoring is given on data
pages GC-1. The following is a listing of the average water
elevations since 1984:
Water Year CRDA-01 CRDA-02 CRDA-03
1984 4866.4 4854.2 4863.3
1985 4865.1 4853.0 4860.5
19P6 4864.9 4854.4 4863.2
1987 4863.9 4855.6 4863.9
1988 4863.9 4854.7 4862.5
1989 4863.3 4852.5 4860.2
1990 4862.6 4851.9 4855.8
The water level in all three piezometers continued to drop this
year. The change may be partially due to the lower than normal
precipitation but we believe it is an indication of normal
dewatering of the pile over time.
•
