OOT_v3_2oo 15:38 WALSH ENV:RONIIE:NTRL 3W443036" P.05
Caribou Park Restoration Propnxal
Page 4
of Wildlife to initiate an investigation under the: federal Endangered Species Act andlor
Colorado Nongame Wildlife Regulations,
7. Summary Report
WALSH will compile all maps, plans, Ithotographs;, figures and data prepared in the Task
1. This information will be summarized with explanatory tt:xt and presented in a concise
summary report. Copies of the report w ill be supplied to Calais Resources and vicir Icon]
counsel (5), Rocky Mountain Native 111ants Company(2), Clear Channel
Communications and their legal count.el (2), and WALSH(3).
Task 2: Preparation of Restorstion D Wgri Flan
1. Immediate,Response Grading and Siding:
Based upon the initial impact assessments and the vegetation inventory,WALSP[
recommends the'immediate response" grading and seeding of the disturbed wetland and
transitional habitat areas. WALSH will fornmlate a seeding schedule immediately, with
the intent of mobilizing a restoration co:istruction crew to htmd-grade and seed the
disturbed areas before winter sets in at Caribou Park. WALiH anticipates that a labor
crew will mobilize to the site to hand le-ml and;grade the site:(e.g..using hand rapes•and
shovels) to its approximate, original tcpography. This preliminary grading will be
performed under WALSH's supervision. Following grading; the areas will be hand-
seeded with native species. It is important that this process lake place prior to snowfall
so that seed can be set into the substrate and become ready for germination in the spring.
The immediate response and implementation of this task will increase the rate of
restoration and revegetation success.
2. Final Backfilling and Grading Plan: .
Following the immediate response grading and seeding,WALSH will produce a detailed
grading plan that restores the original topography mid drainage patterns of the disturbed,
transitional and wetland habitat Origin;d topography and drainage patterns will be
determined and verified in Task 1. Th, design will incorporate grading and back;:llling
(as necessary)of all disturbed areas (inc.uding access roads) to original,pro-disturbance
condition.
3. Final Planting Plan:
After the completion of the"task 2 Final Backfilling and Grading Plan, WALSH,Hill
utilize the compilation of data and base: mapping; gathered during Task 1 to create a
comprehensive planting and seeding plan. The plan will be overlaid on the Final
Backfilling and Grading Plan and will dofmc the species, quantity, cize, form, and
