Page 2
Annual ReporlIMILRD p M-1977-410
December 08, 2000
By: Tom Hendricks/Calais
peat bog/wetland area in Caribou park This property damage took place on our
private patented claims known as the California, Candia and Pandora No. 4 claims.
The event was highly documented by the media, both on TV and in the written press
and was carried nationwide. The event became known as the"Mud test". Local
radio station KBPI-Clear Channel Communications, had a role in organizing, this
chaos.
Our vice president and geologist Bob Akright carefully mapped and photo-
documented the damage immediately following the September 23, 2000 event. I have
attached a copy of his report for your reference. We also employed the services of
Walsh Environmental Scientists and Engineers to evaluate the damage and provide
a figure for reclamation and restoration. I have attached a copy of their findings.
Mr. Jim Cowart and Grant Gurnee worked on this project.Grant Gurnee is their
wetland expert. Other than cleaning up all the trash left behind by this illegal action
and pulling all the vehicles out, the area was completely sealed off in November as
winter set in. Work is scheduled to commence on this project next July. The Boulder
County sheriffs office has made arrests on this case following an extensive
investigation. The disc jockey's involved from KBPI were charged with felonies. I
have not heard of when the trail date has been set. The event consumed a huge
amount of work time in late September and October.
Currently we're discussing our plans for action on this matter with our legal
council. The most important part of this is to educate the public on prevention of any
further environmental damage like this in the future, private property rights and
making sure this area is fully repaired correctly.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require any additional materials.
Thank y u for your consideration.
incerel ,
Thomas Hendricks
President Rd General Manager
Attachmen /Check/Mud fest Reports/Akright and Walsh
CC: Mr.John M Henderson/Mr. Bob Akright/Walsh Environmental/Calais-
Chilliwack OfficelDr. Tom Patton/Mr. Jason Heathman BCSD
