Annual Report November 04, 1999 through November 03,2000 The Cross Mine and Caribou Consolidated mines remained closed during this period.The primary reason for closure was related to low precious metal prices and the re-organization of Calais Resources, Inc.Therefore, no exploration,development or production work occurred at the Cross or Caribou district mines. No exploration core drilling took place and all the equipment remained in storage. No changes took place with any reclamation activity,other than what has been previously reported to your agency. I continued to work everyday at the Cross mine office at Caribou during this period on a multitude of corporate business related to our Colorado properties and our districts in Nevada and Panama. In addition I complete required maintenance on the buildings and facilities. Seven days a week I continue to add 10 pounds of hydrated lime to our water discharge system.Daily and weekly maintenance of this system is kept current year-round. All data generated from the water system work is transmitted to Walsh Environmental Scientists in Boulder, Colorado. Mr. Dave Walker then completes our monthly DMR's that are sent on a timely basis to the WQCD at the State Health Department. During the past year, no violations of this permit took place. Twice yearly I inspect the mine properties for our annual Storm water permit and no changes occurred during the last period.Our explosive magazines are routinely inspected and kept under tight security and maintenance. In addition to my work presence at Caribou,we have fulltime resident caretakers living at the Cross-Mine and Aquarius mine.
