The species of vegetation planted, the locations and approximate
dates of planting:
Species: Grass seed mixture that contains 20 percent Rye,
5 percent Blue Grama, and 75 percent Wheat Grass.
This mixture is being used on all the seeding areas (level
surface area, berms, and road back slopes).
Approximate dates of planting: October 1977, Mid April 1978,
and anticipated October of this year.
5. Type and approximate quantity of fertilizers, organic material
or sail conditioners used and location of use: none required
to this date for successful growth.
6. Appraisal of the success of reclamation efforts:
We feel our established seed areas are quite successful. We
have found that rolling or compacting the seed into the topsoil
is necessary to prevent wind loss and insure a higher rate of
ground cover. Some areas were necessary to re-seed until we
identified wind as a factor.
