• 5.0 LAND DISTURBANCE AND RECLAMATION
5.1 Summary of 2000 Disturbance
In 2000, no additional disturbance was necessary. Table 5-1 lists disturbed acreage at
yearend. Through 2000, a total of 66.7 acres have been disturbed for the mine site and
well field. Injection well 90-5 was plugged and abandoned (P&A) in 2000. Following P&A,
a well head maker was installed. The site was not graded back to the original contours, as
area will continue to be used as an access road for other wells.
Figure 5-1 (map) shows disturbed areas, vegetation (trees, brush) and mine site facilities.
• Future production well field expansion through year 2001 may include horizontal and
vertical wells for extension of cavity 2, to the south (cavity 2A) or horizontal/vertical wells to
utilize other existing wells and cavities.
5.2 Regulatory Compliance
5.2.1 Regulatory Activity
The Annual Report for 1999 and fee were submitted to Division of Minerals and Geology
(DMG) prior to anniversary date of January 31, 2000. No Technical Revisions (TR) were
submitted or approved in 2000. Some confusion on the part of DMG resulted in an
inadequacy notice for no report for 1999. WRN responded that report had been submitted
and DMG found the missing report in their office and withdrew the inadequacy notice.
•
20
