• basis. All monitoring requirements were met at this site. Table 32 provides the 1998 data for this well with
Figures 60 and 61 providing graphical representations of selected data.
Well 008-AT-I is monitored in conjunction with surface water site 1005. Figure 58 depicts the water level
relationship between these two sites. Water quality parameter values depicted on Table 31 are comparable to
other monitored alluvial wells located upstream on both Foidel Creek and Fish Creek.
Middle Creek Alluvial Groundwater: Two Middle Creek alluvia] wells were incorporated into the monitoring
network during 1996. Both will require monthly monitoring of water levels and field parameters with quarterly
water quality sampling. Wells AVM-I and AVM-2 are located on the Middle Creek drainage. AVM-1 lies
approximately 3500' upstream of the confluence of Middle and Foidel Creeks. AVM-2 lies approximately 7500'
upstream of A VM- I . These wells were installed in the fall of 1996.
Due to the limited time that data has been collected for these sites, new minimums and maximums continue to be
established for many tested parameters.
SURFACE WATER MONITORING
Foidel Creek: Three surface flow monitoring sites on Foidel Creek in the vicinity of the TCC mine portals and
• facilities areas are utilized. Site 800 is located upstream of the portal and flows are monitored by the USGS
(Station 09243800). Site 8 is located a short distance downstream of the portal area. Site 900 is located further
downstream above the confluence with Middle Creek. Flows at site 900 are also are monitored by the USGS
(Station 09243900). During 1998, all three Foidel Creek surface water monitoring sites generally required
monthly flow and field parameter measurements with quarterly water quality sample collection. The monitoring
requirements are further described to require 12 flow and field parameter monitoring instances to occur between
March and September along with 4 water quality sampling events. All required monitoring instances were
completed during 1998.
Tables 34, 35, and 36 provide summaries of the 1998 Water Year data collected at each site. Tables 34a, 35a, and
36a provide period of record statistical summaries of collected data at each site. Figures 641hrough 71 and 104
through 107 provide graphical representations of water levels and selected water quality parameters recorded at
each site. Typical flow patterns were exhibited at these sites with spring runoff periods accounting for the peak
flows observed. At all of these sites, the inverse relationship between flow and field conductivity continues to be
evident.
Fish Creek: Five surface flow monitoring sites on Fish Creek are utilized. Site 16 is located upstream of the
Mine 2 area; site 302 is located downstream of the Fish Creel Borehole mine dewatering site; site 1002 is located
. approximately 2 miles further downstream and is monitored in conjunction with alluvial well 006-A W-2; site 27A
-8-
