• cone of depression in the middle of the well field (as a result of
water well) can be noted. This data indicates that direction of
ground water flow during 1990 pumpage in the A and B-Groove
aquifers was toward the water well. water well pumpage is
expected to continue to draw water from all directions within the
A and B-Groove aquifers. Therefore, potential water quality
impacts on the A and B-Groove aquifers would be contained or
consumed on the mine site during pumpage.
3.0 Proposed Operations for 1991
Solution mining operations will begin simultaneously with the
process plant startup. Both are expected to begin in the first
• quarter of 1991.
3.1 Drilling/Recompletion
In addition to the startup of the plant and initial solution
mining, the following wells are expected to be drilled.
1. Two dual well/horizontal well pairs with approximately 1,000
foot mining cavities.
2. Any water monitoring or subsidence wells as may be required.
Refer to Figure 2-4 for proposed wells and cavities and associated
product/water lines.
Na26-IRI-5 will be plugged and abandoned or converted to a Perched
• aquifer monitoring well.
51
