<br />PLANfIN3 PROCEDURE <br />1 Dig a 12 inch deep hole. <br />2 Fill hole with water allowing it to be absorbed. <br />3 Place loose soil in the hole for a planting medium. <br />4 Insert seedling into this loose soil. Taking care not <br />'. to prolong root exposure. <br />(5) Place s 5 gram planting tablet {analysis 20-10-5) <br />1 inch laterally away from root tips and 3 to 4 inches deep. <br />(6) Compact soil around seedling to prevent air voids. <br />7 Place shingle around seedling for shadeing. Used only on <br />Mondale Pines. <br />(8) Surround seedling with 1~5 to 1~4 bale of straw for a <br />mulch. Place rocks on top of strax for wind. <br />9) Water seedling again to the saturation point. <br />10} Repeat step 9 weekly for the first month. <br />SECTIONAL DISCRIPTION <br />Section 1 <br />':'The aspect of this section is east-northeast. Its surface <br />consist of a limestone rubble mixed'_into.the soil. <br />This section was seeded in late June before,'r~forestation. <br />The seed mix was broadcast at 18~`~acre or 6# of seed over <br />the .32 acre section.
