ANNUAL REPORT FUR OCTOBER 10, 1984, PERMLT ANNIVERSARY <br /> PORTL,4M PLANT QUARRY -- PERMIT NO. 77-344 <br /> FRM4M CCUNTY, COLORADO <br /> IDEAL BASIC IbIDUST S, MC. , M= DIVISION <br /> The Portland quarry has continued operations in same cuts as last year. A <br /> seeding program scheduled for the spring of 1984 was postponed until the fall <br /> of 1984 because of the very dry conditions. More complete details are included <br /> under the specific headings below. <br /> 1. Location and Number of Acres Affected During the Year. <br /> The affected area for 1984 is 310 acres, all in previously bonded area. No <br /> change in bond is anticipated. All new disturbance was in Cut 5, which is <br /> totally bonded and included as affected area. <br /> The 1983-84 mining activities by Cut are as follows: <br /> Cut 1 -- The seeding program has been rescheduled for fall, 1984, be- <br /> cause of very dry conditions in the spring. <br /> Cut 2 -- Status remains the same as in the 1983 report, except for the <br /> seeding program which was postponed until the fall of 1984. <br /> Cut 3 -- A new, small sandstone quarry has been opened in the floor of <br /> the cut, replacing the old, small quarry which is being covered <br /> by the advancing overburden full froin Cut 5. <br /> Cut 4 -- Quarrying has been active in this cut during-1984. The cut will <br /> be completed in 1985, and the principal production quarrying <br /> will be shifted to Curt 5. Another sandstone cut will be opened <br /> in the bottom of Glut 4. <br /> Cut 5 -- Stripping has continued, and will continue through 1985. Pro- <br /> duction quarrying will shift this cut upon the completion of <br /> Cut 4. <br /> Cut 6 -- No change. <br /> Cut 7 -- The topsoil storage berm has been continued along tb2 edge be- <br /> tween Cut 7 and Cut 5 for the topsoil removed ahead of stripping <br /> in Cut 5. <br /> Cut 8 -- No change. <br /> Out 9 -- No change <br /> 2. Location and Number of Acres Reclaimed During the Year. <br /> No areas are considered as completely reclaimed at this time. <br />
