As no dumping at Tie Camp is anticipated even
during the south pit development, permanent stabilization of the dump could be
performed following removal of the high-grade stockpile. Reestablishment of
the dump under-drainage should be performed.
Piezometers
Regular reading of piezometers has beett performed. With the exception of
the piezometer at the 360 leve), no significant changes in groundwater levels
have been detected. The 360 level piezometer, however, appears to have risen
some 100 feet and is currently at -75 feet. This may be ascribed to the
placement of snow in this area from road cleaning during the winter period.
Continued observation of this piezometer should be performed at regular
intervals to monitor any additional changes. Water samples from this
piezometer have been muddy, and it has been reported that running water could
be heard at its location. This may indicate that failure of the piezometer has
occurred and that a perched water table exists. Should the water level at the
piezometer not drop to similar levels to those of the previous year by the
fall of 1984, it is recommended that an additional piezometer be installed at
the same location.
Dump Records
Dump records were discontinued on January 30, 1984. Although no dumping
is taking place, it is recommended that at least weekly reports on the dump
status be maintained. These reports should summarize the daily inspections
currently being made.
Pit Access Road Slide
Movement of the pit access road slide was reported to be continuing.
