Rule 4.05.6(13) was in
effect during the time covered by this Annual Hydrology Report.
Rule 4.05.6(13): Inspections. All sedimentation ponds shall be examined by a qualified registered
professional engineer or other qualified individuals under their direction. The professional engineer
or individual shall be experienced in the construction of sedimentation ponds. Ponds shall be
inspected for structural weakness, erosion, and other hazardous conditions. The report shall also
include the level of the sediment in the pond and any other required maintenance of the structure.
These inspections shall be made regularly during construction, upon completion of construction and,
at a minimum, on a quarterly basis thereafter. The report shall be retained at or near the mine site
and a copy of the report promptly submitted to the Division on a quarterly or annual basis, as
required by the Division, by a registered professional engineer.
The report is in compliance with this rule. Sediment pond inspection reports (reports) are
maintained at the mine site (see Division inspection reports). The reports are reviewed in this
findings as such reports are submitted to the Division annually (Permit page 4.05-7) in [he
Annual Hydrology Report (AHR). No sedimentation pond was constructed or was construction
completed on any pond during the reporting period. Thus the requirement for quarterly
inspections is the only continuing requirement. Sediment ponds were inspected for structural
weakness, erosion, and hazardous conditions; reviewed by a registered professional engineer;
sediment levels were reported; and required maintenance reported; on the dates indicated.
Pond 151 Quarter 2" Quarter 3` Quarter 41 Quarter
Streeter Fill 2-21-00 5-24-00 8-01-00 i1-06-00
Work Area 2-17-00 5-24-00 7-27-00 10-23-00
Gossard Loadout 3-06-00 5-23-00 7-27-00 12-07-00
Gulch A 2-21-00 5-23-00 9-17-00 11-06-00
Stoker Coal
Loadout 2-17-00 5-23-00 9-16-00 11-06-00
Gossard Loadout
Loo 3-06-00 5-23-00 9-13-00 11-06-00
