GROUNDWATER MONITORING RESULTS
The groundwater monitoring outline in Appendix A, Table 1, was followed during 1997. All
monitoring criteria were complied with and no abnormalities were encountered.
Monitoring Well Water Levels
Appendix B and C contain the water level measurements taken and lab analysis performed
during this monitoring period. The data is shown both in table and graph form. Normal
fluctuations in water levels were concurrent with the irrigation seasons. Poor
communication between College Summer Students led to a few missing well elevations for
August, 1997.
At New Horizon 1 Mine, wells GW-10, 24, 26 and 28 remained dry during 1997.
Comparison Graphs for wells GW-1, 3, 4, and 8 for years 1979 to present show no
significant water level changes.
At New Horizon 2 Mine, only seasonal variations from irrigation were recorded with no
significant variance from previous years data. Well GW - 38 remained dry throughout 1997.
• Monitoring Well Water Quality
Water quality monitoring results are in table form in Appendix B and C. Generally, quality
parameters at all groundwater monitoring wells were within historic ranges. No significant
abnormalities were noted during 1997.
• 2
