Gunnison No. 1
Mine, CMLRD Permit C-007-80
Dear Susan:
The following report is for the 1st Quarter of 1987.
Weather conditions during the quarter were moderate
with several small snowstorms occurring.
Temperatures were cold and all ponds with water
remained frozen the entire quarter. No weather
related problems occurred during the quarter.
Mine Site - General Conditions
The mine site remained in good condition throughout
the quarter with the exception of the landslide area
below the powder magazine pad. This landslide moved
approximately 4 to 6 feet in a rotational manner
consistent with other landslides in the area.
Currently no facilities or personnel are endangered
by the landslide and no action is planned except
visual monitoring for continued movement. The area
above the main mine portals which has moved in
previous years appears to be stable currently. The
landslides in Sylvester Gulch have shown some minor
movement, but have not required work to keep the road
open except for some minor ditch grading. Both of
the areas (above portals, Sylvester Gulch Road) are
being monitored visually. All other areas of the
mine site appear to be in good condition.
Main Topsoil Pile
No topsoil was placed in or removed from this pile
during the 1st quarter. The portions of the pile
placed last September, October were seeded in
November of 1986. Mulch will be placed during the
spring and summer when conditions permit. The pile
is in good condition, no evidence of erosion or slope
instability was noted. Drainage is in good
AMCO-6204
