12.4.7.1 Monthly 60-minute air samples, representative of
potential employee exposure, shall be collected
at process and storage locations, as appropriate,
to determine airborne uranium ooncentrations.
12.4.7.2 These samples shall be supplemented by worker
breathing cane samplings at least monthly to
determine the representativeness of the station
air samples.
12.4.7.3 Abnthly sampling at selected process areas shall
be performed to determine radon daughter
concentrations. If monthly values exceed 25
percent of the applicable standards, the
Frequency of sampling at these locations shall be
increased to. weekly.
12.4.7.4 If the air sampling program reveals work
locations where concentrations exceed 25 percent
of the applicable standards, the licensee shall
establish a program to determine time-weighted
exposures of employees working at these locations
and establish procedures required to maintain
employee exposures as low as reasonably
achievable. This program shall include
time-weighted studies which shall be done at
least annually.
12.4.7.5 Uranium particulate air sampling, supplementing
the routine air sampling program, shall be
conducted for cleanup and maintenance activities
in process areas, as appropriate.
12.4.7.6 The required in-plant airborne monitoring, shall
be performed under conditions typical of employee
exposures. Along with results of airborne
activity, a record of the state of operation of
both process and effluent control equipment and
ventilation conditions shall be kept.
12,.4.8 ALPHA COfTPAMINATION ~ LII~
12.4.8.1 An alpha radiation survey meter shall be
available at the exit of the licensed facilities
change room. In addition, the licensee shall
perform documented spot surveys for alpha
contamination at least quarterly on workers
leaving the licensed facilities. Alpha
