<br />12.3.6 SAFETY, SECURITY, FENCING, PASTING, <br />AREA CODTl'FOL, PROTI7CI'IVE CLOTHING <br />12.3.6.1 Responsibility <br />12.3.6.1.1 The Facilities Manager shall be accountable for <br />safety, security, fencing, posting, and area <br />control . <br />12.3.6.1.2 The Radiation Safety Officer or his designated <br />assistant shall have authority to remove <br />employees from a work environment or suspend the <br />operation in a particular processing area if he <br />has determined that a condition exists that Y.ould <br />likely result in any individual being exposed to <br />radiation that may present an imminent health <br />hazard. <br />12.3.6.1.3 The Facilities Manager shall act promptly on the <br />recommendations of the Radiation safety Officer <br />or his designated. assistant pertaining to <br />radiation safety and security. <br />12.3.6.2 Fencing <br />12.3.6.2.1 The licensee shall fence and post the exclusion <br />area boundary in accordance with RH 4.11 of the <br />Colorado Rules aryl Regulations Pertaining to <br />Radiation Control. <br />12.3.6.3 Posting Exemption <br />The licensee is hereby exempted from the <br />requirements of fui 4.11 for areas within the <br />exclusion area boundary, provided all entrances <br />to the property are conspicuously posted with the <br />sign: "Any Area or Container on this Property <br />May Contain Radioactive Material." <br />12.3.6.4 Controlled Area Restrictions <br />The licensee shall not allow eating and smoking <br />in controlled areas, except in control rooms, <br />offices, and lunchrooms, or other areas <br />designated by the Radiation Safety Officer. <br />VII -13- <br />
