12.3.2.3.4 Facility Trash
.1 Radioactive or toxic materials, including
construction, operating and decommissioning waste
generated by lice~sQd operations which have
become contaminated above levels specified in
Department Guidelines .may be disposed of only in
an area and in a manner approved by the
Department.
2 Non-contaminated trash may be disposed of only in
accordance with state and local regulations in an
area designated to receive such material.
12.3.3 CCMPI,IANCE WITH CRITERIA FOR OFF-SITE DOSE
LIMITATIONS
12.3.3.1 The licensee shall conduct operations in such a
manner as to provide reasonable assurance that
the annual radiation dose equivalent of 25
millirems to the whole body, 75 millirems to the
thyroid, and 25 millirems to any other organ of
any memt~es of the public is not exceeded as the
result of exposures to planned dischazges of
radioactive materials, radon and its progeny
excepted, to the general environment.
12.3.3.2 Dose evaluation using site specific input
parameters shall be completed using procedures
delineated in The Procedures Manual required by
LC 12.1.7. The tables are referenced in
LC 10.1.4 to allay rapid dose calculational
assessment of environmental monitoring data fcQ
all pathways.
12.3.3.3 This license condition incorporates by reference
the requirements of 40.CFR 190 as in effect at
the time of licensure, to the extent they aze
more stringent than 12.3.3.1.
12.3.3.4 Sources Other Than Authorized By This License
The licensee's compliance assessment shall refer
to details of regional natural radiation
background and of radiation dose commitments from
past and/or present uranium fuel cycle operations
within a 3 (5 km) mile radius which have contrib-
uted or could contribute to radiation dose
camnitments above that of natural radiation
background.
