Daily visual inspections of CR 33 and the YVEA power line were initiated on April 28,
1997 and continued through June 6, 1997. One azea of the road, near the center of the 8
Right Longwall Panel, heaved and required repair. This azea was temporarily repaired by
removing the heaved asphalt and leveling with gravel. An asphalt patch was place on
this area on August 22, 1997. The YVEA power line was visually inspected concurrently
with CR 33 with no impacts evident during the period. Copies of these inspections aze
included in this report.
The Union Pacific (UP) Railroad track visual inspections were conducted by UP
maintenance personnel from June 7, 1997 through June 30, 1997 for the first half of 1997.
Maintenance work performed dwing the period of subsidence is indicated on the
inspection sheets. Copies of the railroad inspection forms aze included in this report.
The Hayden -Gore Pass line, Wolcott Tap -Wolcott line, and Western Area Power
Administration line daily visual inspections were conducted concurrent with the survey of
the power poles from November 1996 through July 1997. No damage requiring repair
work was evidenced with the power lines dwing the period of subsidence. Copies of the
last visual inspection sheets for each of the power lines aze included in this report and all
inspection forms for the power lines aze available for review at the mine office.
• 111. Map
The monitoring locations for the first half of 1997 aze shown on the First Half 1997,
Subsidence Map. The map also indicates the location of the longwall face on a monthly
basis.
[V. Conclusions
Subsidence monument and power pole surveys disclosed no unusual developments
during the reporting period. Subsidence magnitudes and projected draw angles were
within the anticipated ranges previously documented for the area.
Structures remained essentially unaffected during the period with the exception of the
predicted impacts to the county road, railroad track, and power poles. Minor impacts to
the county road were evident, but overall the road remained in good condition both
during and afrer the subsidence process. During the period of subsidence, the railroad
track was maintained in good condition. No adverse impacts were evident with regazd to
the power lines.

2
