_,
bench.

- o Underground coal waste constructed at a slope of 25 degrees
from the toe to within 4 feet of the top of the slope.
0 30 feet high, 60 feet wide berm constructed of coal waste.
• o Four-foot depth of recompacted fill material placed over
coal waste.
- 0 10 feet high, 20 feet wide rock berm constructed in toe
area.
• Slope stability results under these conditions are represented on
Figure 7.
Design conditions represented by the above alternatives are valid
for the central portions of the mine bench. However, conditions
• encountered at the northern and southern boundaries of the bench
along with topographic constraints require different design
- conditions in these areas than in the central portions of the
bench area. Therefore, specific evaluations of the end
conditions were performed, the results of which are presented in
• Figure 8.
4.4 SUMMARY QF RESULTS
Evaluations performed representing the conditions encountered
during field investigations are presented in Figures 6 through 8.
The design incorporates for the central portion of the bench:
o An excavated and recompacted foundation area at the toe of
18
