• ~ '~.,f. <br />Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />September 1, 1982 <br />Page 2 <br />A local seed house has suggested that seed amounts were <br />too great and suggest that amounts be cut in half and <br />that we anticipate success in five to seven years rather <br />than the one to three years normally expected. <br />At the present time we plan to observe only Phase X <br />until we complete backfilling Phase Y, mining and <br />reclamation grading in Stage 1/Phase 1, and allow the <br />lake area in Phase 1 to refill. Then we may be able <br />to isolate the areas to be revegetated from larger areas <br />designated as cattle feed areas so that revegetation will <br />not be hampered by cattle grazing. <br />In the meantime, we plan to investigate various ideas for <br />revegetating areas of this type. <br />(7) Mining will continue on the 8.54± acres in Stage 1 and <br />will progress through the stripped area for an additional <br />7.82f acres (refer to attached map). Terrace mining <br />will continue on land already distrubed in Stages B <br />and C. <br />(8) The annual report date is September 22.
