Expected Activity (2004/2005): The Cut Stone quarry area is not expected to change appreciably. The cut
stone stockpile location has been moved to the main quarry area where the cut stone can be distributed more
efficiently. Although the former area of the stockpile was expected to be revegetated in the last year, that was
not done. As it tamed out, a location fox storing cutstone that did not meet the cutting requirements (improper
rock structure and grain) was needed. That stockpile is periodically reduced by hauling the discarded cutstone
material to the main quarry where it is crushed and used in other products. Other portions of this part of the
operation will remain as they currently axe.
Some additional backfilling will occur in the main quazry in preparation fox additional reclamation.
About one acre was backfilled in the last yeaz. This will be added to during the summer when topsoiling cannot
be done. In the fall it will be topsoiled and seeded.
In the event the mining on the north end of the main quazry is completed in the next year (not likely),
then development will begin on the south end of the quarry in prepaxadon fox moving south. This was expected
to occur last year, but as it turned out there was more than enough material left on the north end of the main
quarry area to supply the needs and the remainder will likely supply the needs for the next year. The market fox
this type of rock has slowed somewhat which has resulted in a slowing of the expansion rate of the quarry. It is
questionable as to whether the main quarry will move any further north on the current mining "finger." The
rock quality is still suitable, but the physical dimensions of the end of the "finger" axe quite limiting.
Bonding: This operation is covered by a self bond.
