Prehistoric themes pertinent to <br />this investigation can realistically be expected tc be limited to <br />those related to chronology, settlement patterns, and related <br />general types of questions CEighmy 198~t). Pertinent historic <br />themes will mast likely be those addressing farming and ranching <br />CMehls 198'1) . <br />The inventory will be accomplished by a files search at the <br />Colorado ^AHP and by an intensive pedestrian survey ^f the <br />project area. <br />For the purposes of this investigation, a prehistoric site is <br />defined as any locality containing structures or Features, ^r <br />having Eive or more artifacts in a restricted area and having <br />apparent association. A locality with Four or fewer artiFacts <br />and no structures or Features is defined as an isolated find. <br />Historic sites are defined as loci of patterned historic <br />activity; this would include structures and structural remnants, <br />trash concentrations suggesting repeated use of the area, and <br />refuse dumps. Historic isolated finds are individual historic <br />artifacts or small artifact clusters that are not obviously <br />established refuge dumps. The minimum age For historic sites and <br />isolated finds is 50 years. <br />10 <br />
