As contemplated in TR40, WFU wiii revise the language to include sampling of water
wells in lease C-8424 and C-8425 prior to entering the leases and at least one year
prior to requestlng final bond release.
2. Regarding the outcome of the effluent samples sent fo EPA latx)ratory in Duluth,
Minnesota, WOCD has, in the past, always told us that they had not heard from EPA.
We will contact WOCD again. Appropriate revision to the text will be made based
upon WOCD's response.
3. The °depth" column in Appendix C, page C-1, indicates depth to water level. We will
amend the page to clarify this.
4. With respect to the quality data for mine inflows, R is requested that this requirement
be deleted from the permit. As you are aware, White River is the source of Deserado
Mine water requirement. This water is not likely to create an adverse impact in
Deserado Mine hydrology.
Since the 1996 water year has already passed, and the 1996 annual report is due by December 31,
('suggest that the above changes be incorporated in the upcoming report. Please call me with any
questions.
Sincerely,
Murari P.
