o Success criteria will be delined on the basis of woody plant density <br />(number of woody plants in unit area), specie composition, production <br />~,~(~ (gm/m2) as they relate to the vegetation in the reference plot. <br />~j ri- <br />O r U (ff '~~/li ' /C ' "~ ~ <br />This phase will help WFU determine the mix oP topsoil/subsoil cover to be placed <br />on the refuse pile and will set a procedure for conducting statistical evaluation <br />of the revegetation success. <br />Test Plot Reclamation Plan <br />The test plot reclamation plan will consist of the following tasks. <br />~ ;, <br />V <br />o Eight test plots, each 100' x 100' in size, will be delineated and <br />~)\ ~' fenced in RP-1. Four of these plots will have northern exposure. <br />~~j,l ( The other Pour plots will have southern exposure. ' <br />~l J' <br />o Each set of the four test plots will be covered with varying <br />~~ X thicknesses oP topsoil/subsoil: 12-inch, 4~-' ~h; 36-inch and 48- <br />s <br />inch. The 12-inch cover will be exclusively of topsoil. The other <br />three covers will have at least 18-hlches of topsoil; the remaining <br />cover will consist oP subsoil. The topsoil/subsoil thickness mix may <br />vary as a result of the physical and chemical analysis of the refuse, <br />topsoil and subsoil as outlined in the pre-reclamation investigation <br />phase. The~/test plots will be constructed in Spring/Summer, 1990. <br />o The test plots will be mulched with grass hay, disked with a disk <br /> <br />furrow machine and seeded with a rangeland seed drill. ~~ <br /> <br />
