BO% 2 1 62 <br />DURANGO.COLO RADO 81302 <br />January 2, 199 <br />T'0: National King Coal, Inc. <br />RESIDENCE 247-3960 <br />SUBJECT: Quarterly Subsidence Monitoring, Fourth Quarter, 1991 <br />1) The fourth quarterly visual inspection for subsidence, King <br />Coal Mine, La Plata County, Colorado was limited to 1'~ days <br />during the month of October because of early snow. <br />2) Sites of earlier subsidence were inspected in SW; SE; NE`, 31, <br />S!~ NW; 32 and N~ SW; 32, T35N, R11W. No new fracturing or ver- <br />tical displacement has occurred at these sites. <br />3) Fracturing in SE; SE; 31, T35N, R11W has not continued. There <br />has been additional vertical displacement of approximately 0.05' <br />on the north side of the fracture in the vicinity of SW corner <br />of Mining Section no. 3 West - total 0.15'. The west end of the <br />fracture is beginning to fill in and heal by erosion. <br />4) No other evidence of subsidence was noted during surface <br />inspections this quarter. <br />5) The permanent surface subsidence monitoring map was not <br />changed as there was no lateral extension of any fracture. <br />--~C ~.% (- .~~~ <br />~- Fr /M.
