November Monthly Report - 2002
Page 3
Mainstem Stream Monitoring and Reference Point Stream Monitoring
Sunnyside sampled the reference point (A-72) on November 60'. The results for this
sample are attached.
The provisional flow at A-72 on November 6, 2002 was 69 cfs. The dissolved zinc value
for this sample, obtained by averaging the results from two labs, was 565 ug/l.
Using the methodology outlined in the modified Appendix A-Consent Decree
Amendment No.4, the predicted zinc concentration is 569 ug/I which is essentially the
same as the observed or measured concentration.
The standardized residual graph and updated reporting table are attached.
The 12 period moving average of standardized residual values is also attached.
American Tunnel Bulkhead No.3
The forms for the American Tunnel No.3 Bulkhead were filled on November 14, 2002
with no major problems. Throughout the remainder of the month, the construction pipe
through the bulkhead was left open while the concrete cured to design strength and the
concrete-rock contact was grouted. The flow through the construction pipe was treated
continuously by the American Tunnel treatment facility. The construction pipe through
the bulkhead will be permanently grouted in early December since test cylinders confirm
that design strength was more than achieved. The American Tunnel portal will also be
permanently closed and contoured to blend into the surrounding topography according to
the facility Mined Land Reclamation permit.
It is anticipated that in December a request for termination of the Consent Decree will be
submitted and approved according to the terms of the Fourth Amendment to the Consent
Decree and further reporting will not be required. If this is the case, this will be the final
Consent.Decree report submitted by Sunnyside Gold Corporation. If you have any
questions on this report, please contact me.
