After their review of last year's Yoast ARR, the COMG made eewral comments that are
incorporated into thin yeaz's AHR9. The first comment roe about updating the ground and •
surface water standards tables presented in Tables 5 and 9. SCC reviered the new Colorado
Depaztment of Neal th's (CDOH) gtandazdn and compared them to the AAR tables. No ranges
were made to the AHR tables since the updated CDOH regulations did not change any
applicable standards.
The second comment was about the excursions of certain ground rater quality vas standards
that were reported in the AHR. Those issues are die cu9sed in Na following ''Ground Na ter
quality'' section.
The third comment roe about the applicability of certain surface rater use standards used
rn the AHR. Tables 9 and 30 have been revised to more cleazly define the standazda used.
The fourth cowmen! was about TDS values in rho Grassy Crack and Amend Draw alluvium.
Those is sues are diacueaed in the following "Ground rater Summary".
The fifth comment rill be answered here. This comment requested information as to why the
TDS values observed at Sage Creek alluvial relle YSAL3 and B exceeded the PHC (Probable •
Hydrologic Consequences, Tah 17) predicted value of 798 mg/1. This is the predicted value
at well YSAL1, the furthest downstream of the Yoast gaga Creak alluvial wells. The
Division is correct that the TDS values at YSAL3 and 8 aze higher than 798 mq/1. This is
due to the natural variability of alluvial water quality in the area. However, since the
Yoaat PHC used data from YSAL1 for its modeling, only data from that well should be
conaidared in determining the accuracy of the PHC prediction. TRerefore, SCC believes
that a revision of the Yoast PHC i9 not necessary.
ThB la9i CO~IIt wag abOUt TDS w1nB9 reported at eurfaCB water Site YSGS. This item i9
discussed in the "Surface Water Summary" section of this AHR.
Meieorolooical Data
No meteorological data ie collected at the Yoaet Mine. SCC maintains a weather station
(rind speed and di ree tion, temporatura and precipitation) at its adjacent Seneca II-W
Mine. The reader is ceferred to that AHR, s~~n:~ H. SCC also maintains a precipitation
•
2
