The purpose of these borings would be to estimate
the thickness of the soil cover, the character of the rock,
and, most important, the hydrological conditions of the
upper bench. At least 2 monitoring wells should be installed
in these borings; they would enable long-term monitoring of
ground water conditions, and they could be used in future
for monitoring of the influence of the future waste pile on
the ground water regime,as required by appropriate regulations.
Testing should be performed on soils and rocks from these
borings; it would include index properties, unconfined com-
pressive strength, and the shearing resistance of selected
rock or soil types.
oaoHroao eor~w~mw, iNe.
