Mr. David Berry
October 26, 1988
Page 3
CYVCC RESPONSE:
Well 008-SP-4A -
The MLRD's comments have been reviewed and it is CYCC's intention to
continue using this well as provided by the approved plan. The well does
provide piezometric information, as such, is beneficial to the monitoring
program. Also, the area has been mined and reclaimed and installing a new
well would not provide any further data for monitoring post-mining impacts.
Water quality data is obtained from Well 008-SP-5A; and also annually during
the spoil spring survey, if sufficient flow is available. Therefore, no
significant benefit would be realized in relation to the cost incurred to
install a new well.
MLRD CONCERN:
Alluvial Wells
Well 008-AV-1 -
Only eleven of the twelve required field parameter measurements were
obtained for this well. Also, carbonate was not analyzed for the
October 1986 and December 1986 samples.
CYVCC RESPONSE:
Well 008-AV-1 -
The field data for July has been entered into the data base and an updated
report is attached to this letter. Please refer to above comments on
carbonate analyses.
CMLRD CONCERN:
Well 008-AV-2 -
Carbonate was not analyzed for any of the water quality samples.
CYVCC RESPONSE:
Well 008-AV-2 -
Please refer to above comments on carbonate analyses.
