• HG-2
(East Well)
1. Elevation at the top of the casing:
Lollar Elevation 7,533.2
Ground Elevation 7,531.1
Northing 377,508.9
Fasting 1,500,091.2
2. Total depth of each well:
HG-2 was drilled and completed to a depth of 270 feet, which is 11.5
feet below the base of Seam 5.
3. Locations and thickness of water bearing zones within the wells:
HG-2 encountered the first water zone at a depth of 60 feet. The flow
was on the order of 2 to 3 gpm from a shaley siltstone. This flow,
similar to the first flow encountered in HG-1, is believed to be the
result of secondary porosity caused by fracturing. Additional flows
on the order of 1 to 2 gpm were encountered in a sandstone between 138
feet and 145 feet and in the coal seams.
4. Stratigraphy associated with the wells, including lithologies and
• thickness of units:
As stated above, geophysical logs are provided for your convenience in
Exhibit 5.
5. Well completion logs:
HG-2 was completed as shown in Figure 2.05.6-1 of the Permit. The
only exception is that the well was completed to a depth of 270 feet
versus 265 feet shown in Figure 2.05.6-1.
In addition to the above information, HG-1 and HG-2 are plotted
on the Final Reclamation Map included in this report.
On November 5, 1987, both wells were sampled for quality, water
level, and the composite flow into the well. Field analysis of pH and
conductivities indicate the completion method for the new wells was
acceptable and the previous assumption that the old wells were contaminated
by grout is valid. Following are the field results for the sampling on
November 5th.
HG-1 HG-2
Depth to water (ft.) 13.6 77.1
pH 7.3 7.3
Conductivity (UMNOS/CM) 1,310 1,150
. Composite Flow (GPM) 7.5 6.1
-4-
