O O <br /> Permittee Name: Albert Frei and Sons, Inc Page 2 <br /> Permit No: M-83-33 <br /> Operation Name: Walstrum Mine <br /> Anniversary Date: 06 / 23 / 94 <br /> We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report <br /> questions as outlined in Section 2 . 4 . 1 of the Rules and Regula- <br /> tions. <br /> 2 . 4 . 1 <br /> (1) No new land was disturbed this year, mining continued in the <br /> area previously stripped parts of Phase I . Total disturbance <br /> to date in Stage I is 23 . 27 acres ±. The floor area increased <br /> by 2 . 88 acres ± as the face of the mine moved into the <br /> stripped area. The current face area is approximately 4 . 64 <br /> acres ±. Stage Z is being used as a temporary surge pile <br /> stockpile area for contracted material it is scheduled for <br /> removal this year and the area will be seeded. <br /> (2) No reclamation was required this year. The initial grading <br /> around the buildings is complete on 1 . 26 ac. ± in Phase Y. <br /> Minor amounts of backfill continue to be placed in the valley <br /> on the eastern side of Phase I as approved. Stage X has been <br /> graded and shaped (4 . 16 ac. ±) and work on 0. 36 ac. ± of Stage <br /> A is complete. The table below outlines the various stages of <br /> reclamation at the pit. <br /> DESCRIPTION ACRES <br /> Backfilled 2 . 63 <br /> Graded 13 . 76 <br /> Floor area 11. 09 <br /> Undisturbed 82 . 95 <br /> (3) Mining will continue into the area previously disturbed. The <br /> mine face will continue to move to the east towards the east <br /> Affected Lands line, as approved. Stripping will beginning <br /> again this year with an additional 7 . 98 acres ± being stripped <br /> if needed. In addition, we may begin to shape the top of the <br /> area between the road and the mine area, above 7400 feet, this <br /> amounts to 1. 35 ac. ±. Backfilling will continue in Phase I <br /> as needed. <br /> (4) Use of Phase Z will be completed this year and the area will <br /> be graded and prepared for revegetation next spring. No other <br /> reclamation is called for at this time. As part of the <br /> approved T.R. the stages outside the main quarry will be <br /> completed and returned to their end uses. <br />
