1 <br />1.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION <br />' 1.1 Scope of Work <br />' The scope of work for these Specifications shall include construction of the tailings embankment, <br />the splitter embankment, tailings disposal azea liner and drain system, tailings delivery pipeline <br />' system, collection system, water return system, storm water diversion system, access roads, and <br />other pertinent structures for the San Luis Project, as shown on the Drawings. Specific features <br />of the work include, but are not limited to the following: <br />1 • Mobilization of all construction equipment and material required for the work; <br />• Construction of temporary and permanent access roads; <br />• Installation of temporary and permanent surface water control; <br />• Clearing, grubbing, and stripping in required azeas; <br />' • Regrading of the disposal azea surface; <br />• Excavation in required areas, including dewatering as needed; <br />• Construction of storm water intercept ditches; <br />' Development of borrow areas; <br />• Selective borrowing from approved borrow azeas; <br />' Foundation preparation for liner and fill placement; <br />• Fill placement and grading; <br />• Furnishing and installing all material and constructing all items appurtenant and incidental <br />to the above; and <br />• Demobilization of all construction equipment, removal of temporary structures, and <br />grading final surfaces. <br />The Contractor shall familiarize himself with relevant regional and site specific conditions which <br />may have an impact upon the work. Data relevant to the overall project aze contained in reports <br />in the possession of the Owner, which aze available for Contractor review. They site description <br />and conditions are presented in the document "112 Permit Application Amendment, San Luis <br />Project" by Steffen Robertson and Kirsten (U.S.), Inc. (SRK), August 1989. <br />Drawings to be read in conjunction with these Technical Specifications aze titled "San Luis <br />Project Tailings Disposal Area," and aze in series number 14719-101 through 14719-104. <br />' At any point during the course of the project, it shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to <br />receive written confirmation from the Engineer on work items in question. Should any <br />contradiction either implied or real exist between the Technical Specifications and the Drawings, <br />the Specifications shall take precedence.
