Tests for peel
adhesion shall be in a free condition (not 90° or 180°). Breaks at weld sheet interface
(adhesion) are considered anon-FTB (failure). Individual test results shall be documented.
Qualifying test results shall be an average value of the five replicate specimens, identifying the
range by standazd deviation.
A break at the weld sheet interface (adhesion) is considered anon-FTB (failure) while a break
through the weld is considered an FTB if the break is ductile and if the streAgth meets the
minimum required values; otherwise the break is considered anon-FTB (failure). A test seam
sample passes when both specimens have a passing result in pcel and sheaz tests. The test shall
be repeated in its entirety when the test seam sample fails (one of the specimens fails in either
peel or sheaz mode). When repeated test seam fails, the seaming apparatus or operator for
welding shall not be used until deficiencies or conditions are corncted and two consecutive
successful field test seams are achieved. When field test seam fails, a destructive sample shall
be taken at a minimum of 10-foot either side of the failed sample until the se8m passes the
' deswcdve test.

-za
