Storage and Handling <br />The geomembrane rolls shall be packaged and shipped by appropriate means so that no damage <br />is caused and shall be delivered to the site only after the Owner receives and approves tht <br />required submittals. The Contractor is responsible for the transportation, off-loading and storage <br />of the geomembrane rolls. Off-loading shall be done in the presence of the Quality Assurance <br />Engineer and any damage during the off-loading shall be documented by the Quality Assurance <br />Engineer and Contractor. Damaged rolls shall be separated from undamaged rolls until proper <br />disposition of material is determined by the Quality Assurance Engineer. Final authority on the <br />determination of damage will be the Quality Assurance Engineer. The Contractor shall replace <br />damaged or unacceptable material at no cost to the Owner. <br />Geomembrane rolls shall be stored on a prepared surface (not on wooden palled) and shall be <br />protected from puncture, dirt, grease, water, mechanical abrasions, excessive heat or other <br />damage. The geomembrane will be stacked no more than three rolls high. Tlie Owner will <br />allocate sufficient space to store the geomembrane rolls. <br />Any damaged rolls shall be rejected and removed from the site or stored at a location, separate <br />from accepted rolls, designated by the Owner. All rolls which do not have proper manufacturer's <br />documentation shall also be stored at a separate location until all documentatyon has been <br />received and approved. <br />The Contractor is responsible for on-site handling of the geomembrane and shall use appropriate <br />handling equipment to load, move or deploy geomembrane rolls. Appropriate handling <br />equipment includes cloth chokers and spreader bars for loading, and spreader and roll bars for <br />' -ia <br /> <br />
