These discharges from the ponds are usually short in duration, typically lasting one week or less <br />and bring the elevation of the water to below the bottom of the manual dewatering device. Colowyo <br />samples the effluent at the beginning of the discharge and becomes aware of the chemical make-up of the <br />dischazge approximately 2 weeks later. Because the level of the pond is below the manual dewatering <br />device it is impossible to dischazge the pond again until the pond level rises, which may not be for some <br />time.
