.,.
b. All data for the first three quarters at pond 14-3; the site was visited in
November only, the requirement is quarterly field parameters and an
annual full suite analysis.
c. All required data for Springs 14-4 and 15-4. There is no data in the report
for these two sites; the requirement is quarterly flow and field parameters,
annual full suite.
d. Semi-annual water level data for Borehole B-3. The report says "bridged"
for the water level data, but the narrative says the well was dry.
Please provide either the missing data or an explanation for their omission.
2. Drillhole 600 has a tube, for obtaining water level data, installed to a depth of 1,040'. The
water level in the well has appazently dropped below the reach of the tube, so BRL has
not been able to report the water level. Please propose another method for obtaining water
level data at this site.
3. Drillhole 650 is reported to have collapsed. BRL should either replace the well or
demonstrate that it is no longer needed to test the prediction of probable hydrologic
consequences and revise the monitoring plan accordingly.
Mine Inflow Report
Inflow monitoring was in accordance with the approved plan. Seeps and inflow have been less
than I g.p.m. and of short duration, which is consistent with predictions.
1996 Subsidence Report
4. The report notes that Stations 94, 96, 97, and 98 (at the Gross-Rhode Ranch) were
replaced by Stations 81, 82, and 83. Please explain why there are not four monitoring
locations to replace the previous four. Also, these new subsidence monitoring points do
not appear on the Map 2-5 that was included in the annual report. Please submit a new
Map 2-5 that shows these new locations.
5. The 1995 report states that the Pitkin Mesa pipeline will be monitored semi-annually in
seven locations. The seven locations were surveyed in May and June. While semi-
annually is defined as occurring twice per year, and the monitoring was conducted twice
during the year, it would seem that the intent of the scheduling was for two monitoring
events spaced evenly throughout the year. Please conduct future subsidence monitoring
accordingly.
Not all of the proposed 1997 subsidence monitoring points are on Map 2-5. Also, this
map needs to have a map number added to the map title. Please revise this map to correct
these discrepancies.
