RECEIVED
FEF3 - ~ i~~35
[.TINED LAND RECLAMATION pIVISIAN
Colo. Dept, of Natural Resouruaa
~ III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
sss
January 31,1985
Mined Land Reclamation Division
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
• ~~~Q.~
~' /n
' :r
z~
Subject: 1985 Annual Mining and Reclamation Report and Map. Permit 77-140
The following is our annual reclamation report and map for 1985. Also,
I have included a summary of all of our reclamation efforts so far.
The map will reflect all of the reclamation work we have done and the
work we plan on doing next year, 1985.
Mining and Reclamation Plan for 1995
Mining in 1985
In 1985, we are planning to use a Sauerman bucket operation as our means
for extracting pitrun material out of the pit.
',Je have been using a dredge, or gravel pump for the last three years, but
it has not proven to be very effective.
A Sauerman bucket is a special bucket that is also used with a dragline.
The only difference is that the bucket is sent out on a cable which is attached
to a deadman on [he opposite side of the pit. This will enable us to throw
the bucket several hundred feet out and will let us dig to a very great depth.
Essentially, it is accomplishing the same thing as dredging, which is letting
us dig considerably deeper, but not disturbing any more land.
Our mining plan then would include, working in a westerly direction along
the north shore of existing pit. lJe would not be enlarging the actual pit
but would affect a small strip of land along the shore where the dragline sits
and where we will be. moving material with a front end loader. (Refer to:
Mining - 84 b 85 on map) This would amount to less than 1/2 acre of affected
land.
Reclamation for 1985
For 1985, our reclamation plan will consist of a minimal amount of bank
sloping and topping on the northwest corner of pit. This is beta use we will not
be disturbing any additional land. Total number of acres reclaimed for 1985
will be less than 1/2 acre.
