The review
has been organized by comparing results presented to the predictions contained within the
probable hydrologic consequences section of the permit.
surface water
PHC Projection: Effects of minewater consumption and discharge on the quantity of flow
in the Colorado River will be negligible.
The AHR data support this prediction.
PHC Prediction: The effects of subsidence on flows in Rapic Creek and Cottonwood Creek
will be negligible.
The AHR data support this prediction.
PHC Prediction: Discharges will increase the salinity in the Colorado River by 0.1 to 0.2%.
The calculations provided in the report beaz this out. The date chosen for calculating a daily
"snapshot" was December 14 at which time the salinity increase calculation shows 0.19% ,
within the predicted values. It appeazs that the combination of flows and TDS values for that
date fall within the range so that the conditions on this date aze a reasonable representation of the
system throughout the water year.
PHC Prediction: There will be increased sedimentation due to the surface disturbance.
This was clearly the case, given the violation issued for the erceedance.
