In the 1993 reclaimed areas, nearly half of the total density was Woods rose <br />and most of the rest was, as is typical, big sagebrush and mountain snowberry. <br />However, serviceberry and bitterbrush each comprised slightly over 5 to 7 percent of the <br />total which is encouraging for the long-term. For the 1996 reclaimed areas, the <br />distribution of density among species contributing to the total of 696 stems/ac was <br />skewed toward mountain snowberry and big sagebrush, but serviceberry, chokecherry, <br />bitterbrush, and Gambel's oak all made contributions of from 4 to 12 percent of the total. <br />In the 1998 reclamation, the total woody plant density of 231 stems/ac was more like <br />what is typically observed in reclamation, but it did include good representation by <br />• chokecherry and Gambel's oak.
