This
is not a phased operation but the area needing reclamation at any
one time is limited to 50.00 acres ±. Construction of a slurry
wall around the pit was completed by Denver Water Board and South
Adams County Water and Sanitation District in February 2004.
Suburban Sand and Gravel Co., has ecntinued to mine the site
according to the approved plan.
The permitted area is 168.41 acres ±, the pit HAS NOT been
granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS operated more than 180
days this year. A check for $688.00 is attached to cover the
annual fee. Please refer to the map attached for the areas
discussed in this report.
(1) This entire disturbed area has been stripped of topsoil and
the topsoil was stockpiled around the site for use in recla-
mation. At the current time we have 126.32 acres ± disturbed
in the pit. Of the total area disturbed at this time 118.60
acres t, is lake area (blue), 2.27 acres is left to be mined
(brown); 1.79 acres is graded, shaped(+++++); 14.22 ± is
partially sloped. Mining continued on areas previously
disturbed around the lake and we mined 3.95 acres on the east
side of the mine (\\\). Much of this area will be below the
water line when the lake refills. The magenta area on the
map shows the area disturbed when the slurry wall was in-
stalled, 11.57 ac. ±. This area was graded, shaped, resoiled
and seeded last spring. In addition, the Highway Department
has disturbed 18.55 acres of land along the northern side as
they construct 120th Ave (purple). This area will be re-
claimed by them as part of the construction project. The
temporary settling pond on the east side was removed this
year.
