_,
CASTLE CONCRETE COMPANY'S
MINED LAND RECLAMATION
1985 ANNUAL REPORT FOR:
' SNYDER QUARRY
PERMIT NUMBER: 77-210
i ~, i, ,
INSPECTION FOR DATA IN REPORT: MAY 9, 1985
,. ,.
,,.,
_, ~.
SUMMARY: During the previous year the mining did not change much from
the previous year. Reclamation was minimal and involved maintenance of
the revegetation on the visual berm. However, major changes were made
in the plans for the quarry through an extensive amendment that both
expanded the quarry and improved the reclamation potential.
RULE 2.41(1): LOCATION AND NUMBER OF ACRES AFFECTED DURING THAT YEAR.
The amount of land affected during the previous year was
essentially the same as it was the previos year. Mining primarily
occurred in the western portions of the originally permitted area.
Depth was increased further to make room for the deposition of waste
materials.
One small expansion into the amendment area occurred late in the
year, but this did not involve mining directly. Instead, it involved
the establishment of the new shop area. The area was stripped of
vegetation, but at the time of the inspection for the production of the
information in this report, no actual soil stripping or construction had
begun.
RULE 2.41(2): LOCATIONS AND NUMBER OF ACRES RECLAIMED FOR THAT YEAR.
No additional areas were reclaimed this year. Some maintenance
work was done on the erosion damages that developed as a result of major
thunderstorms last year. These damages were filled with rip rap with
the intent of producing permanent drainage channels on the berm.
RULE 2.41(3): THE LOCATION AND NUMBER OF ACRES IN THE VARIOUS STAGES OF
RECLAMATION (BACKFILLED, GRADED, TOPSOIL REPLACED, REVEGETATED).
The three acres on the visual berm remains as the only area where
final reclamation is being instituted on the permit area.
Because of the amendment, none of the existing benches are final as
they were previously.
1
