Dear Mr. Weaver;
The Division has reviewed the Semi-Annual Subsidence Report for the
Southfield Mine. The report encompasses surveys completed during
the period May 1, 1994 to October 31, 1994. The report was
received by the Division on January 27, 1995. To determine the
required elements in the report, the Division reviewed the
Subsidence Survey, Subsidence Monitoring, and Subsidence Control
Plan which begins on page 2.05.6-55, Exhibit 23, Map 17, and
stipulation ,~11. The Division has the following comments,
questions, and recommendations for this report.
I. Report Contents
Pursuant to Stipulation No. 11, the report contents for the
semi-annual subsidence report are:
1. Include tabulated survey monument, structure
location, and orientation data.
2. Present graphically, in cross-section form, survey
data for the two high-resolution monument grids.
3. Include a summary comparison of monitoring results
and the predictions for each inventoried structure
and the stream channel of Newlin Creek.
Based on the above requirements, Southfield should provide the
following additional information to be incorporated into the
report:
1. The surveyed elevation of each monument, in
addition to the elevation change for the subsidence
survey data tables.
