These lower levels
are typical of the lower than normal flows noted in the SURFACE WATER section
of-this report.
Water level monitoring on the Cameo Refuse Disposal Area piezometers
continued on a quarterly sc hedule for 1988. The following is a listing
of average water elevation in the 3 CRDA No. l piezometers for the last
5 years:
Water Year CRDA-O1 CRDA-02 CRDA-3
1984 4866.4 4854.8 4863.3
1985 4865.1 4853.0 4860.5.
1986 4864.9 4854.4 4863.2 ,
1987 4863.9 4855.6 4863.9
1988 4863.9 4854.7 4862.5
The lower two benches on the CRDA No. i. refuse pile were recontoured for
better drainage during the summer and the heights on the piezometers was
adjusted. See data page GC-1 for individual readings. Water levels on
the data page are field readings and should be adjusted for top of pipe
• changes for comparison. CRDA-O1 remained the same during the year while
the other two showed a seasonal variation.
Water level monitoring on the loadout piezometers, UTL-O1 through UTL-04,
was discontinued during the year. The results of monitoring prior. to the
change are given on data page GB-1
MINE WATER

Mine water inflows studies were done in September and October 1988. Results
of these studies is tabulated on Tables M88-1 and M88-2. The locations
on these tables correspond to location number on the 1988 Mine Inflows
Map.
As noted in the Surface Water section of this report, pumping from the
Cameo Mine- started again in November 1987. Pumping from 11-30-87 thru
6-2-88 did not include flows from locations 3 and 8. The average discharge
during this period of time was 60.6 gpm compared to a measured flow of
61.0 gpm for these locations in October. The discharge from 6-2-88 thru
7-6-88 also included location 3 and had an average flow of 73.1 gpm compared
to 71.3 gpm measured for these location in October. From 7-6-88 thru the
end of the water year the discharge included water from location 8 which
was being drained on an irregular schedule. The location 8 flow does not
represent actual inflows behind the seals because the water level was being
lowered. The average pH and conductivity for the discharge during the
-3-
