DMG Permit No. M-88-112 <br />November Monthly Sampling <br />Dear Mr. Dillie: <br />All required sampling was completed during the month of November. <br />A total of 4,904,900 gallons of water was treated and discharged into Rifo Seco during the month <br />of November. The water treatment plant was down for optimization and purging of the system for <br />the first nineteen ~ 19~ days of the month. The upgrade/purge was completed and the plant started <br />up on I 1 /20/00. <br />All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. <br />Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. <br />When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on <br />1 1 /27/00, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. <br />San Luis valley Earthmovers prepared the seed beds, applied fertilizer and seeded 106.36 acres <br />during the month of November. ~` <br />The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 1 1 /28/00, with the following <br />result: BF-I was 28.77 ft and BF-2 was 32.37 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also <br />checked with the following result: PW-1 was 29.21 ft, PW-2 was 29.23 ft, PW-3 was 36.25 ft and PW-4 <br />was 30.60 ft. <br />The underdrain was measured at approximately 22 gpm. <br />the collection pond's leak detection system was pumped and sampled on 1 I /27/00.
