:.
~.. ANNUAL REPORT cont. •
i
reclamation concept is proceeding according to elan.
There is not at this time any apparent indication
that the adopted mining proceedures should be a:Ltered,
nor is there any evidence that the present efforts
will not accomplish the objectives of the final
reclamation plan.
Dust control and abatement has been reasonably :suc-
cessful according to the results of several inspections
by various agencies, but this factor of the operation
continues to be a primairy concern of the operators.
Constant revision of technics and equipment is Y~eing
employed in an effort to further improve this
situation, and these efforts have been primairll~
responsible for sustaining dust emission control.
and compliance.
Implementation of the Mine Safety and Health Act: of
1977 has created confusion and orientation problems
for this operation. Interpretation of the regulations
precipated by this Act have been of substantial
concern. However, subsequent to inspections by
MSHA inspectors, that resulted in several citations
for minor safety violations, which were promptly
abated; supervisory attendance at prescribed MSHA
instructor training schools; and preparatory development
of an employee safety training plan has to an extent
alleviated these concerns.
(7) With reference to the topographical map submitted here-
with, it is the intention of the operators to submit
an application to ammend the existing permit to
include both Parcels 3 and 4 in the permit. Subsequent
to approval of this application, it is proposed to
begin mining and extraction within Parcel 3.
Consequentally, it is anticipated that approximately
60 acres, all within Parcels 1, 2, and 3 could
conceivably be affected sometime during the next year.
Attached to this Annual Report is a check in the
amount of $350.00, payable to the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board, for the annual fee.
Holloway Companies
Spe ification~Aggregates, Inc.
~~,cG,
Dou as Case
Report for period ending February 15, 1979.
