sanq~les were collected in the spring. The water quality samples were collected
• on May 5th and 6th for all of the ponds except P-88 and P-89. The field notes
for this day indicate that a lot of the flat is attributable to snownelt. This
is apparent fran the elevated flan measurements and relatively law conductivity
values. No evidence of mine impacts was noted. During 1994 retreat mining was
perforned under Ponds 10-1, 10-2, 10-3, 10-4 and 10-11. The East Roatcap Creek
ponds were physically intact throughout 1994 and showed no subsidence effects.
West Roatcao Creek
Two ponds located in the West Roatcap Creek drainage (refer to Table 5 and Map
No. 4-1) were mronitored during 1994. The ponds were monitored quarterly for
water levels and field parameters if they were discharging. Water quality
sales were collected in the spring from those ponds which were discharging.
A water quality sample was collected fran both of the West Roatcap Creek ponds
and the results were consistent with baseline information collected in the past
except flora rates were elevated because of snamelt as noted above. No evidence
of mine imgaacts was noted. The West Roatcap Creek ponds were physically intact
• throughout 1994 and shaved no subsidence effects. No retreat mining was
conducted in the vicinity of any ponds during 1994 in the west Roatcap Creek
drainage.
Stevens Gulch
Two ponds were monitored within the Stevens Gulch drainage (refer to Table 5 and
Map No. 4-1). Ponds 85 and 13-7 were monitored quarterly for water level and
field parameters. water quality sales were obtained in the spring. Pond 85
was undar,n;nrxt by Panel B in 1992. Pond 13-7 was also undermined during 1992.
No subsidence impacts or other irregularities were evident at either of these
locations during 1994.
SURFACE WATIIt MONPIURING STATIONS -SPRINGS
East Rodtcao Creek
Two springs were monitored in the East Roatcap Creek drainage (refer to Table
5 and Map No. 4-1) during 1994. Spring 30 had measurable flow in April and
November with only a trickle noted in August. Water quality parameters taken
in the spring were consistent with previous sampling at this site. Spring 30
was enocrtg~assed by the angle-of{iraw of Panel Y during May of 1993. Spring 10-
10 had measurable flow in May, August and November. Water quality parameters
5
