This data would indicate that the stockpile and loadout are not degrading the
water in the alluvium.
EAST iY]A7CAP CREEK CaI1,LNI[M C~20UNUNm7ER MJTIITOEtING WELiS
Shallow groundwater mronitoring wells SM-5, SM-6, SM-7, SM-10, and SM-11 (see Map
No. 4-1) are located in the East Roatcap Creek drainage. The wells were
monitored for water quality parameters, water levels, and field parameters to
detect impacts associated with mining in the west pod. All of the wells were
monitored semi.-annually for water levels, field parameters and water quality.
None of these wells are located within the projected angle~f~raw from the mine
workings.
Water levels from the five Roatcap Creek colluvial wells continued to shwa
typical seasonal variability with water levels elevated in the spring and lower
at the end the year. No anomalies or impacts on water levels were observed in
1994 at these wells. No anomalies or adverse impacts on water quality
characteristics were observed at any of these wells during 1994 as water quality
• analyses yielded results cc~arable to previous collected data.
STEVFaiS QIIL7i OC3.I,iNlUM GROUNDFg1TER MONITORING WEBS
Shallow groundwater monitoring wells SM-1 and SM-9 (see Map No. 4-1) are located
in the Stevens (Ulch drainage. The wells are ~ronitored for water quality
parameters, water levels, and field parameters to detect impacts associated with
ro;n;nq in the central pod. Required ironitoring for wells SM-1 and SM-9 was
s®ni-annually during 1994 for water levels and field parameters. Well SM-1 is
located adjacent to areas mined in 1991 and 1992 but showed no apparent impacts
in the field data collected during 1994. Access to well SM-1 was reestablished
late in 1993 and monitoring continued at his site during 1994. Well SM-9 was
undermined by Panel C during 1993 but showed no apparent impacts in the field
data collected during 1994. No anomalous water quality observations were
apparent during 1994 at the Stevens C;ulch shallow groundwater~ronitoring wells.
SURFACE WATER MONIIURING STATI~IS - PObIDS
East Roatcap Creek
• Twelve ponds located in the East Roatcap Creek drainage were monitored during
1994 (refer to Table 5 and Map No. 4-1). Ponds were ironitored quarterly for
water levels and field parameters if they were discharging. Water quality
4
